Quotations

Vehicles brought in for repairs are quoted on to ascertain the costs of repairs and extent of the damage.

Assessment

Assessors are appointed by the various insurance companies to assess the vehicles after the quotations have been given to verify parts prices and labour rates before authorization is given to commence with repair work as quoted..

Booking in of Vehicle

When a vehicle is booked in or towed in a checklist is compiled to ensure that parts are covered and personal belongings which may be in the vehicle are returned to the owner on completion of repairs. The vehicle is then fitted with a seat cover, steering wheel and floor cover.

While awaiting repairs as well as during repairs, the vehicle is also covered with a plastic sheet to eliminate dust and scratches.

Stripping

Once authorization for repairs has been received all necessary paints pertaining to the collision area on the vehicle are removed and stored in marked stripping bins.

Ordering of Parts

Parts are ordered on authorization of repairs and are invariably received on the same day or following morning.

Panel Restoration and Replacement

All panels affected by the collision are repaired or replaced by artisans, who also fit, align and adjust new parts as necessary.

Spray Painting

Once all the parts on the vehicle are correctly fitted and aligned, the vehicle is sent to the Preperation Bay, where it will be prepared for painting.  This procedure is considered extremely important as the quality of the paint application depends on how well the surfaces have been prepared.  The vehicle and its parts are painted and baked.  We are currently using PPG Water Borne Paint, which is safer for the environment.

Polishing

The vehicle and its parts are then moved to the polishing bay where they are polished to the standard required.

Assembly

All parts removed from the vehicle are then finally re assembled and final settings and adjustments are carried out, also a short road test is carried out to ensure that the vehicle is safe for road use.

Washing

The vehicle then goes to the washing bay where it is washed by means of a high pressure machine to remove all polishing and panel beating residue.

Delivery

In the delivery bay the vehicle is then vacuumed internally and waxed externally so that the customer receives a clean vehicle on collection. Also a final checklist is done to ensure that the repair work has been carried out correctly and that the vehicle is safe to be taken out on the road again.
